Bran mans big bash invitation |
During my pregnancy someone started calling Branson "lil monkey" and to make a long story short that is still one of his many nicknames to this date. He came out looking like a lil monkey with his long legs and arms, and since the boy has learning to crawl he has climbed up on anything and EVERYTHING he possibly could! So when deciding on how to decorate his room I had always wanted a neutral nursery, nothing with prints or animals or any kind of objects relating to baby-like things. Until one day doing some on-line shopping I found some monkey nursery decor, my heart fluttered alittle and I knew it was the one. Picking out his first Halloween costume was easy, of course a monkey! So when it came time for the BIG first birthday it only made sense to have a diy monkey themed partay!! And that's exactly what we did...
His cake table filled with goodies made by Mama, Gram, Aunt Lori, and cousins Nikki and Ashley
His smash cake was the monkey head :)
We tried giving our kitchen a jungle themed makeover!
He was such a trooper opening his presents!
The little tree centerpieces I made
And the birthday boy!
Sorry I had too, its my favorite hehehe
Not ONE family picture on my camera of all three of us looking and smiling so this will have to do.
The crazy hyped up lil monkey after eating allll that chcoclate frosting, sitting on his fourwheeler with his Pops!
So there it is, Branson first birthday in a nut shell. I have a TON more picture but not enough time in the day to put them all on here! I really wasn't all emotional on his birthday like alot of other moms I've talked too. I guess I just felt so blessed and overjoyed to be celebrating my little man with everyone and be able to call him mine, boy I cant even put how I feel about that into words! He is truly a miracle and I can't wait to celebrate 60+ more birthdays with him!! I love everymintue of him growing up! I do wish it would slow down just a tad ;) but I know it won't so all I can do is cheerish all those special moments!
P.s. Please dont mind the HORRIBLE quailty of all my photos..New camera is on my Christmas list ;)
What a fun party! I am starting to plan Matthew's first bday (in Feb) and we are doing the sock monkey theme!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks awesome, from the decorations to the centerpieces and the cupcakes! Yummy! I love the monkey cookies (or were they cake pops)?? Where did you get the bday hat? Cute!
And my favorite is the picture of him after he smashed his cake! So adorable!
Thanks! It was seriously so much fun to plan and even more fun making everything!! The monkey heads on the sticks were cookies:) They were super yummy!
ReplyDeleteI made his bday hat with some foam paper, construction paper and googly eyes. And of course some glue but that was it, pretty simple actually!
